On sight final drawing assignment.
31/2' x 41/2'
Two more are on their way

We had a weekend trip to Florence guided by our Renaissance studies professor and founder of the program, John Skillin. After a long day of intense high Renaissance art and architecture we climbed hundreds of stairs up to a church that overlooked the city. We were rewarded with an amazing sunset

Assisi

One of our first excursions was to Assisi a beautiful mountain city full of hermitages and home of giotto's frescoes of the life of St. Francis. We were able to drive up the mountain and have a picnic, and sing praise songs among the olive trees. We hiked up to a hermitage and saw were Francis secluded himself in prayer. Quite a beautiful place to see God's glory and a good reflection on St. Francis dedication to the life of Christ.

Rome

The best gelatoria in Rome.... arguably of course. Recent articles has shed light on the gelatoria's complacent behavior as of late, but not many can argue with the home made cream that makes their gelato king of these parts

Day 1

no sleep, but the Italian air, expressos, and gelato keep my blood pumping and my energy high. This first day feels like a week and I have already seen and learned so much about my surroundings and others in the program. The highlight of the day would most definitely be the gelato. Having inquired a local about the best gelato in the land, I was able to set out into the city as the rest of the group were napping. I loved exploring the cobbled streets of the city and the gelato lived up to the reputation.
